As an Independent Funeral Director, we are committed to traditional values. Our aim is to ensure every funeral is relevant and completely personal.

We’re based close to Preston town centre and operate throughout Preston and the surrounding area. Our new premises on Mount Pleasant are tastefully decorated to the highest standard with a calming arrangement room and our chapels of rest are presented to the highest standard to provide a comfortable environment for you to spend time with your loved one.

At Clifford Ward Funeral Service, we offer independent advice and allow you the time to consider your options as we realise that you’ll want the details to be perfect so as to respect the wishes of your loved one. We can also put you in touch with monumental masons in and around the Preston area.

Meet our staff

Richard Billington – Owner and Funeral Director.

Richard joined the company in 1998 as Funeral Director Assistant and Hearse Driver. He worked his way up to Funeral director and company director and eventually took over ownership in 2019.

Julie Adams- Funeral Arranger and Administration.

Julie joined the company is 2009 as the office secretary and took over the role of Funeral Arranger.

Richard Gallagher – Senior Funeral Operative/ Funeral Director

Having worked in the funeral industry since 1982 Rick joined the company in 1998 as a Funeral Operative and Limousine Driver.

Alex Clayton – Funeral Operative/ Hearse Driver.

Alex joined the company in 2018 as a casual funeral bearer before joining the team full time in 2019.
